Results – Ladies and Men’s State Singles Finals

In fine sunny weather, the men’s and ladies state singles championships were completed, at the Benalla Bowls Club.

Ladies

Semi -Final

Mary Tragardh defeated Rhoanna Smith, and Karen Nicholls defeated Claire Sanders.

Final

The final between Mary and Karen saw some great bowls by both contestants. Karen got away to a good start, only to be pegged back by Mary, who went on to win the match and be our Ovens and Murray Ladies State Champion.

Men

Semi -Final

Ian Brimblecombe defeated Mick Vaughan, and Ethan Fruend defeated Chris Randall.

Final

The final between Ian and Ethan was played in good spirit, with both displaying good draw bowls. Ethan started well, but once Ian got the lead, he held on to it and went on to win the match and be our Ovens and Murray Men’s State Singles Champion.

Congratulations to Mary and Ian. All the best in Bendigo.
