Congratulations to the Region’s new Australian Champions

WE HAVE NEW AUSTRALIAN CHAMPIONS IN OUR REGION!

Well done to Claire Sanders, Laureen Smith, Anne Miles and Kylie Whitehead in taking home the gold medal in the 2021 Australian Women’s Fours. They went through the championship undefeated.

After a first up win over the S. James, L. Hicks, K. Lane, S. Tootell (NT) the girls faced off against eventual silver medalists, Western Australia. In this encounter, which boasted multiple momentum shifts, they held off Helen Heal, Robyn O’Brien, Hailey Packer and Kristina Krstic with an 11-10 after a time limited 14th end.

They went on to post two more wins over M. Webber, S. O’Toole, C. Russell, P. Hobson (QLD) and eventual bronze medalists and Tasmania, side skipped by Barbara Liddington, Linda Rose, Crystal Brooks and Deann Harman.
