Bright Bowls Club 125 Years Celebration

Bright Bowls Club, celebrated their 125 years as a club, last Saturday, 18th March, with a lovely happy, casual, chatty dinner, and evening, attended by 60 Members and Guests. Live music was provided by Mikey Clayton, one of our new members.

We were honoured to have attend, our Special Guests, Laureen Smith, President of O&M, Tony Sherwill, CEO of Bowls Victoria, John Forsyth, Mayor of Alpine Shire Council and Tim May, Chairman of Bright Bendigo Bank.

The Clubs 2 Life Members, Bridget Smith and Elaine O’Shea were also our very Special Guests. Bridget was present at the 100th Anniversary, and Ladies President at that time. This Milestone, is an incredible achievement for a small regional club, and it’s history is impressive from 1898 until now.

Sunday, was our Funday, with a few members dressing in the “Old Style” uniforms. Don’t know how they ever played in those? we are so lucky these days! 28 members and partners, played with the old wide biased black bowls, which was very interesting and a lot of laughs. We are a small club, but have many keen and eager members looking after the future of this club, to see it through the next 25 Years.

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE BRIGHT BOWLING CLUB – GREAT EFFORT! Hope you make it another 100 years
