Weekend Pennant – Round 9 – Mandated 10.00am Start

Due to anticipated extreme temperatures this coming weekend the Pennant Committee is mandating a 10.00am start for all Divisions. For those clubs arranging an alternate day of play there will be no cancellation for Saturdays game and the heat rule will apply.

In future when Weekend Pennant is brought forward to a 10.00am start and not postponed or cancelled games will be played under the “Heat Rule”. Cancellation or postponement will only apply when “extreme” temperatures are anticipated (42-45C with high temperatures leading up to the day of play).


Midweek Pennant Round 9 – Clubs please note that under the Pennant Rules next weeks Midweek Pennant round programmed on Australia Day can be changed to another time or day under Rule 2:

Rule 2.       Day and time of play.      Pennant Matches may be played any time during the week but no later than Sunday of the week scheduled. Matches are to commence at an agreed day and time arranged between the Club Side Captains (appointed by participating clubs) to suit the competing teams. Should the Club Side Captains not reach agreement then play is to commence at the scheduled programmed time and date as detailed below.

2.1                      Start Time.   All Pennant Matches are to commence at (other than agreed alternate date/time arranged in accordance with Rule 2.

2:2.1      Weekend Pennant: 1:00 pm on Saturday (2 trial ends prior) or 10:00am if extreme heat is anticipated. The Pennant Committee will advise of any changes on Thursday prior to the round.

  • Midweek Pennant: 10:00am on Tuesday (2 trial ends prior)

Postponed Rounds – the postponed rounds for this season meant to be played at the end of the season (Weekend Round 4, Midweek Round 7) can be played at anytime between now and the end of the season by agreement between clubs. Should agreement not be reached then the games must be played on the following dates, Weekend 6 Mar 21 and Midweek 9 Mar 21. Once games completed early have been finalise results are to be entered as normal.
