Results – Bowls Vic State Singles and Champion of Champion Events

Today saw the continuation of the men’s and women’s state singles and champion of champions at YMGCR.  There were many spectators who were fortunate to witness some great games and bowls of a very high standard.

Finals were completed in the men’s state singles and champion of champions.

In the state singles semi finals Tyson Cromie defeated Tom Morrow and Josh Rudd defeated Lance Bradshaw.  The final was a hard fought game of very high standard with Tyson coming out the victor over Josh Rudd 25/16.  Congratulations Tyson!

In the champion of champions semi finals Ian Brimblecombe defeated Ken Widdison and Mason Bayliss defeated Doug Stewart.  The final saw Ian jump out to a handy lead over Mason, but Mason scored well to keep catching up to 21/24 when Ian secured the championship with the one shot he required. Congratulations Ian!

The ladies events are to be finalised next Sunday at YMGCR 9.30 start.

In the state singles semi finals Kylie Whitehead defeated Kerri Leask and Jodi Fruend defeated Mary Tragardh.  We look forward to the final between Jodi and Kylie.

In the champion of champions first semi final Sharon Warfe defeated Cheryl Lewis and the next semi final to be played next Sunday will be between Mary Tregardh and Peta Mattys.  The winner of this match will play Sharon Warfe in the final.  We wish all the finalists good luck and good bowls.

Next Sunday at YMGCR will see the completion of the Ladies state singles and champion of champions finals and the Mixed pairs semis and final.
